Code from your phone
Code from your phone, for real
Other tools let you code from a phone by squinting at a tiny editor. The real difference with DashVox is that it is hands-free and screen-free: you drive AI coding agents on your own machine by voice, the agent does the typing, and the results are read back to you. Speak, listen, done, with no keyboard and no screen required. It handles the SSH from your phone for you, so you get remote agent control without a terminal.
Your real machine, not a sandbox
The agent runs on your own machine over SSH, or a managed VM you control, against your actual repo, running services, and uncommitted work.
Hands-free and screen-free
Start tasks, run tests, and approve steps by voice, and hear the result read back. No keyboard, no editor to squint at. The screen is there if you want it, never required.
SSH handled for you
DashVox opens and holds the SSH session on its backend, so it keeps running when your screen is off. No terminal to configure.
Phone, watch, or car
Use the phone app, reply from Apple Watch or Wear OS, or go hands-free in the car with the native CarPlay app.
How coding from your phone works
- 1. Connect your dev machine once under Settings, then SSH Profiles. Or use a managed DashVox Cloud VM and skip setup entirely.
- 2. Tell the agent what you want, by voice or text. It runs Claude Code or Codex on that machine and streams edits, diffs, and test output.
- 3. Hear the result read back, approve the next step, and keep moving, from the phone app, your watch, or the car.
Coding from your phone FAQ
Can I really code from my phone?
Yes, and you can do it hands-free and screen-free. DashVox lets you code from your phone by driving AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex) that run on your own machine. You do not type in an editor on glass; you start tasks and tests by voice, the agent does the editing, and the result is read back to you. The screen is optional, never required.
Does it handle SSH from my phone?
Yes. DashVox manages the SSH connection from your phone to your machine for you, and keeps the session alive on its backend so it survives the screen turning off. There is no terminal to configure or babysit.
Do I need my own machine?
No. Self-hosted mode runs on your own hardware for free, but if you would rather not run anything yourself, DashVox Cloud Ultimate gives you a managed VM with pre-configured coding agents, ready to go.
Which coding agents and models does it work with?
Claude Code and Codex out of the box, with any major LLM behind them, including Claude, GPT, and Gemini, plus custom endpoints for self-hosted or enterprise models.
