Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026.
1. Acceptance
By installing or using DashVox (the "App") — including the mobile app, the self-hosted server, and the cloud service at api.dashvox.ai — you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Driving safety
DashVox is a voice-first application designed to minimize distraction while driving. Even so, you are solely responsible for operating your vehicle safely and in accordance with local law. DashVox is a tool; it is not a substitute for your attention to the road.
Do not use features of DashVox in ways that distract from driving. Pull over if you need to interact with the screen.
3. As-is service; no warranty
DashVox is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that data will be secure or not lost.
4. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DashVox and its maintainers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the App — including but not limited to damages arising from use while driving.
5. Third-party services
DashVox integrates with third-party providers including Google Firebase (authentication, infrastructure), Google Cloud Platform (hosting), and Large Language Model providers such as Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google. Your use of those services through DashVox is also governed by their respective terms.
You are responsible for complying with the terms of service of any LLM provider whose API you use through DashVox — including any usage restrictions, content policies, or per-request costs imposed by those providers.
Payments are processed by Stripe. DashVox never stores your full card details — Stripe handles them under its own PCI-compliant systems. See Stripe’s privacy policy for how your payment information is used.
6. SSH and remote access
DashVox can orchestrate SSH sessions on remote machines that you explicitly configure. You are solely responsible for the credentials and access controls of those machines. Do not configure DashVox with credentials for systems you are not authorized to use.
When you use DashVox Cloud, the SSH credentials and provider API keys you configure are stored on our servers so we can establish connections on your behalf. These credentials are not yet encrypted at rest — encryption at rest is planned but not yet in place — so you should only entrust DashVox Cloud with credentials whose exposure you consider an acceptable risk. With DashVox Self-Hosted, your credentials never leave your own hardware.
7. Plans and pricing
DashVox Self-Hosted is free: run your own server with your own provider API keys at no charge. DashVox Cloud is a paid service — a subscription for access, plus a prepaid balance of usage credits that is drawn down as you use AI models (measured in tokens) and managed cloud compute (measured in VM time). We may offer additional plans, including enterprise and tiered plans, in the future.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the cloud service at any time, with or without notice. If the cloud service is discontinued, you may continue using DashVox with the self-hosted backend.
8. Billing, renewals, and refunds
Cloud subscriptions are billed through Stripe and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled. You authorize us, via Stripe, to charge your payment method for each renewal.
You may cancel at any time from within the app; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Canceling does not delete your prepaid credit balance — your credits remain and are available again if you resubscribe.
Usage credits are consumed by your AI and compute usage, priced at our then-current rates (which include a margin over our underlying provider costs), and do not expire while your account exists. Except where required by law, purchased credits and paid subscription fees are non-refundable.
We may change prices and usage rates on a going-forward basis; material changes will be communicated before they take effect. Prices may exclude applicable taxes, for which you are responsible. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription and removes your saved payment details from our payment processor; financial records may be retained in anonymized form as required for accounting and legal compliance.
9. Acceptable use
You may not use DashVox to (a) violate any law, (b) infringe the rights of any third party, (c) attempt to compromise DashVox infrastructure or the systems of others, or (d) abuse the underlying LLM providers in ways that violate their terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
