Incident response

Incident response from anywhere

When your services go down, how far is the responder from a keyboard? With DashVox they connect to your machines over SSH and start triaging by voice from a phone, watch, or car, the moment the page comes in. The response starts when the incident does, not after someone gets back to a computer.

Triage from the first alert

Get paged away from your desk, connect to the machine by voice, and see what is happening before it grows into an outage.

Real commands over SSH

Tail logs, run health checks, and restart services on your actual machine, spoken back to you so you never look down.

Survives backgrounding

The session is held on the DashVox backend, so it keeps running when your screen turns off. A phone SSH app on iOS drops after about 30 seconds.

Shrink time to first action

The sooner someone can look, the smaller the blast radius. DashVox removes the wait to reach a keyboard.

Why a phone SSH app is not enough

The instinct during an incident is to open a terminal app and SSH in. On iOS that falls apart fast: the app cannot hold the connection in the background, so your session drops about 30 seconds after the screen turns off or you switch apps. You also have to read a tiny terminal and type on glass, which rules out driving or any eyes-free moment.

DashVox keeps the session on its backend and gives you voice control over it. You hear what the agent found, approve the fix by voice, and confirm recovery, whether you are on the couch, in the car, or out on a walk when the alert fires.

Incident response FAQ

Can I respond to an incident without my laptop?

Yes. DashVox connects to your machines over SSH from your phone, watch, or car, so you can start triaging the moment an alert hits, before you get back to a computer. Tail logs, run health checks, restart a service, or kick off a test by voice.

What happens to the session when my phone screen turns off?

Your session lives on the DashVox backend, not the phone app, so it keeps running with the screen off or the app closed. A plain SSH app on iOS cannot do this: iOS suspends those apps about 30 seconds after backgrounding, which drops the connection.

Is it safe to triage an incident while driving?

DashVox is designed to keep your eyes on the road. The fully hands-free driving mode works by voice alone, like taking a phone call, and the native CarPlay app keeps interaction to a few large, glanceable controls. You are still responsible for driving safely and following local law.

Can my whole on-call team use it?

Yes. DashVox Enterprise adds org-level seats and budgets, SSO, and admin controls for teams. See the Enterprise page to contact sales.

Rolling this out across an on-call rotation? See DashVox for teams.
